Whether you’re seeking relaxation, historical immersion, theme park thrills, or a taste of the great outdoors, there’s a perfect weekend adventure waiting for you within driving distance. So, pack your bags, fill up the tank, and get ready to explore some gems, all reachable from Memphis!

Hot Springs, AR | 2 hr 49 min 

Hot Springs has dozens of natural thermal springs that flow from the Ouachita Mountains. The water is over 4,000 years old and is around 147 degrees F. While there are no outdoor soaking opportunities, Hot Springs has eight Victorian-style bath houses along Bathhouse Row where you get the chance to relax and experience history. The small town is also known for its beautiful parks, amazing thrift stores, art museums, and more.  

Nashville, TN | 3 hr 15 min 

Nashville, or music city, is known for its country music, live entertainment, and Southern Cuisine. You can visit the Country Music Hall of Fame and see a show at The Grand Ole Opry where musicians like Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, and Patsy Cline performed. There are parks, huge shopping malls, and endless chances for fun.

Huntsville, AL | 3 hr 38 min 

Huntsville earned the name “Rocket City” because of the city’s contributions to space science and technology. The U.S. Space & Rocket Center is one of the main attractions. It is an amazing opportunity to immerse yourself in the wonders of space through the displays and interactive exhibits. Huntsville is also home to the third-best attraction in Alabama which is Hunstville’s Botanical Gardens. There are countless opportunities to experience nature and history. 

St. Louis, MO | 4 hr 12 min 

St. Louis’s Gateway Arch is a must. The monument is 630 feet tall, and you can take a ride in a futuristic pod all the way to the top. The view of the city is spectacular. Thrill seekers head to Six Flags to experience amazing roller coasters. St. Louis also has an aquarium with over 13,000 animals. There are many places for sports lovers, museum lovers, and food lovers! 

Branson, MO | 4 hr 55 min 

The main attraction in Branson is Silver Dollar City in the Ozark Mountains. It’s an 1880s theme park with thrilling rides, fun shows, exhibits, and craftsmen. It’s like you’ve traveled back in time! There is also the White Water water park which has 13 acres of water slides. Branson has unique museums like the Titanic Museum that looks just like the ship or the Hollywood Wax Museum where you can meet your favorite celebrities. There is so much to discover.
